MP3's can now be paired with your car radio, office computer and your home theater system. You can even purchase a docking station with it's own set of speakers specifically designed for MP3 players. Many different cables are available to connect your MP3 player to external speakers. There are also an abundant selection of different types of headphones and ear buds.

Most MP3 players use a standard size jack to be able to connect almost all of the different MP3 player accessories. The standard size is 3.5 mm as this is a very common size among all audio devices. Different cord lengths can also be purchased anywhere from a few inches for MP3 to computer pair ups to many feet long for home theater pair ups from across the room. Usually the higher the price of the cable means you will get a better quality sound.

Protective covers also known as skins are another great MP3 player accessory to purchase. You must make sure you get the appropriate cover for your particular device to ensure proper protection and coverage of all the important surfaces. A large array of different covers made of synthetic materials like plastic, vinyl, and spandex as well as more natural materials like leather are available. Some covers come in the form of an armband for jogging, working out at the gym, bicycling or even just day to day life. You can also connect your MP3 player to your belt with a belt clip style holder.

There are still many more MP3 player accessories to choose from. There is a plenum of many different holders available. Your MP3 player can be attached to your car dash for sinking your MP3 player to your car radio. These holders attach in ways such as Velcro, vent attachment and magnets or you can even permanently attach it using screws much the same way as the now common GPS units. If you own a motorcycle, you can even attach your MP3 player to your bike in one way or another. Most bikers will tell you a handle bar clamp is the best way but you need to decide for yourself. These clamps also work great for bicycles as well.

The stock headphones/ear buds are fine for most people but if you really want to enjoy your MP3 player, you will need to purchase one more MP3 player accessory...aftermarket ear buds/headphones. These come in many colors and styles including pink and purple for the girly girl types. You will want to be careful when buying these for children as their ears are very easily damaged by loud noises.

The MP3 player accessories listed above are just a few of the options available and there are many choices to choose from in each category. Go with your gut; get what you want and your sure to be happy.
